Our members enjoy many outdoor recreational activities including hiking, camping, canoeing, fishing, bicycling, birdwatching, and of course horseback riding, just to name a few.

And we are a non-profit 501(c)3 Citizen Support Organization (CSO).

Our mission

It is our mission to support O’Leno and River Rise Preserve by fundraising, conducting recreational & educational events, by promoting academic, archeological research,
and by helping to maintain and preserve cultural & historical resources.

Our History

Chartered in 1988 by the State of Florida, Friends of O’Leno, Inc. has been crucial in developing the equestrian facilities at River Rise Preserve.

We have also been instrumental in establishing the Nature Center at O’Leno, and continue to finance the care and maintenance of the displays, educational articles, and of course our precious animal ambassadors.
